Antartic is a people-orientated company with 240 employees based on a culture of shared, sound human values:
RESPECT – PROFESSIONNALISM – INVOLVEMENT – SOLIDARITY and SOCIAL INTERACTION.
Recognising the values of each employee, whatever their culture or initial training, developing our team spirit and being able to adapt, to question ourselves, are the means by which we can fulfil our ambitions day after day.
To achieve this, we are committed to a management initiative that favours reactivity and ongoing adaptation as well as an initiative focused on the continuous improvement of occupational health and safety.
Assistance in integrating
As part of our welcome and integration structure for new employees, in 2001 we created the specific roles of Welcome and Training Manager. Accordingly, all new arrivals in our company, employees, temporary staff or trainees alike, follow a specific career path ensuring swift integration and their safety.
Developing Professionalism
Developing our skills is one of the key ways of reinforcing our competitiveness and one of the main tools for supporting our employees in their professional advancement.
We make every effort to maintain and develop the employability of our employees, focusing not only on the active safety of their jobs but also the performance of the company.
We are therefore investing over 3% of our turnover each year in external training programmes. Moreover, convinced of the key role played by each employee in the transfer of skills, we allocate a considerable sum to the in-house learning of our best practices through tutor-based training.
Playing a role in Qualifications Acquisition
As a people-orientated company, we play an active role in qualifications acquisition through learning, placements and professionalisation contracts for young people or unqualified workers, who make up 4% of our workforce.
In this framework, we are developing genuine partnerships with temping agencies to provide temporary staff with specific training programmes. We have had an Production Operator sandwich course in place in the Food Processing Industry for the last 3 years.
Improving Occupational Health and Safety on an ongoing basis
Our main objective is to develop a safety-minded culture within Antartic. In our daily work, respecting people means ensuring the safety of Antartic employees and visitors above all. For the past few years, we have undertaken rigorous measures to considerably improve our performances as regards safety. Antartic is set more than ever on reducing the number of accidents in the workplace by following a very active safety policy. In 4 years, we have reduced accidents in the workplace by over 50%, and significantly cut the severity rate. Considerable efforts have been made to train and raise employees’ awareness in terms of risk management and prevention.
Along with personal safety, the safety of equipment is another key aspect of our risk management initiative aimed at preventing any incident that may be caused by technical malfunction or human error.
With the active participation of CHSCT(workplace health and safety committee) members and involvement of various occupational health bodies, we are constantly improving our working conditions.
Committed to performance and ongoing improvement, we conduct safety audits for everyone working at Antartic: employees, temporary staff and visitors from external companies.
